Flight Centre certainly knows how to throw a launch party as was evidenced by the tremendous trade turn out at its first foray into the Irish market. Every supplier worth their salt was present as the new agency officially opened its doors.
The Flight Centre Travel Group, which is headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, has a global turnover of A$17.6 billion and employs 19,000 staff in more than 2,500 shops in 12 countries, including 86 shops in Britain.
There were 14 Flight Centre staff in attendance, some of whom had flown in from the UK to celebrate the occasion.
John Appleby, General Manager Ireland for Flight Centre, told ITTN that he was delighted with the welcome that Flight Centre had received from the Irish trade and, in particular, the good will that he had experienced. He went on to say that they plan to open more offices in Ireland “but we first need to hone the Dublin customer experience and increase our understanding of Irish consumers, who are usually well informed and prepared to pay for a quality service.”
Apart from the food and drinks, the guests were able to avail of the opportunity of a relaxing massage.
The new office has been renovated into a state-of-the-art customer-friendly travel booking centre and the staff look highly professional in their well-tailored uniforms.
Flight Centre offers flights and holidays to a wide range of destinations including Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.
They are certainly here for the long haul, in every meaning of the phrase.
