Loganair, a regional airline, has completed its first aircraft turnaround using just electric power.
The achievement happened at Stornoway Airport and comes after Loganair invested £2 million in new ground support equipment.
Nearly 100 new pieces of ground equipment are being purchased by the airline for all of its operations.
These consist of solar-powered boarding ramps, electric luggage belts, and hybrid ground power units.
Crews can save fuel by using these GPUs to power planes while they are parked at the gate.
