Finnair is Santa’s Official Airline

Finnair, Santa’s official airline since 1983, has given two of its A321 Sharklet aircraft new Christmas-themed liveries and increased the number of flights to Lapland, especially from Helsinki to Kittilä, Ivalo and Rovaniemi, and with improved flight connection times from European flights.

The holiday season is also present on FInnair’s Christmas menu designed by Pekka Terävä. The menu is served on intercontinental Business Class flights departing from Helsinki between 26th November and 30th December 2014.

Last September Finnair announced that next summer it will add a new seasonal service to Dublin, beginning on 30th March 2015. Flights will be operated until late October with timetables designed for optimal connections with Finnair’s network of Asian destinations.

The Dublin route will be served six times a week, on every weekday except for Tuesdays, with 100-seat Embraer 190 aircraft operated on behalf of Finnair by Flybe Finland.

“With this new destination we are responding to growing demand, particularly from Asia, so the timetable is tailored for the best possible connection to Finnair’s Asian flights,” said Fredrik Charpentier, Sales Director UK & Ireland. “At the same time, of course, our Finnish and Baltic Rim passengers will also be able to enjoy what this fascinating destination has to offer.“
