With a 98 per cent success rate, BA’s Fear of Flying course, which has been running across the UK and Ireland for over 28 years, will give Irish participants the chance to tackle their fear of flying.
According to independent research, almost 25% of all people have some fear of flying, and since the course started it has helped more than 45,000 people overcome their phobia.
The one-day course, which is being run by local British Airways pilots and crew and cabin crew, will address common misconceptions around turbulence and explain how an aircraft actually flies. A clinical psychologist will also provide expert advice on relaxation techniques, helping participants to understand and rationalise their fear and teach them controlled breathing methods for reducing anxiety in the air.
Aoife Duggan, British Airways’ First Officer from Dublin, said: “As one of the pilots facilitating the course, I am looking forward to being able to share my knowledge and love of flying and really help participants to overcome their fears. We want to provide those people attending the course with the confidence to feel able to go on that holiday of a lifetime or visit friends and family abroad.”
The course will take place at The Maldron Hotel, close to Dublin Airport, on Saturday 28th March 2015. The day begins at 08.00 and finishes after the British Airways flight experience at 16.30.
The price of the course is €299 including the flight. Refreshments and a buffet carvery will be provided on the day. If participants would like to bring someone with them on the day to take part in the flight only, they can book this additional space for €149.

Hello, Michael. Irish company FlyFearless.ie has been operating a very successful fear of flying programme next to Dublin Airport for eight years now and, to date, has helped over 1,600 people. While the EU might not like us promoting our own over a UK business…it’s worth a try!
