Expedia TAAP Scheme to Bolster Irish Travel Agent Earnings

Expedia has launched its Travel Agencies Affiliate Programme (TAAP) in Ireland. The programme, which is already operating in many parts of Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, is aimed at boosting agents’ earnings by offering them attractive commission on bookings made through Expedia, including its ‘Expedia Special Rate’ hotels, dynamic packaging, car rental, flights and activities.

Some 17,000 travel agencies, with more than 60,000 front desk agents, have already joined TAAP across the globe since the scheme was established in 2002.

Through the programme, travel agents in Ireland can now access more than 145,000 hotels worldwide, 400+ airlines, and car hire in over 30 countries through the Expedia website.

Diego Pedrani, Expedia TAAP global director, said: “Prices on offer to the agents are the same as the customer sees on the Expedia.ie website so they can compete with even the most web-savvy client. Travel agents worldwide are enthusiastic about Expedia’s TAAP programme. Expedia has such a massive offering of inventory and rates, it’s no wonder travel agents find it so appealing.”

How It Works:

  • Book: Travel agents simply need to sign up as Affiliate Travel Agent to TAAP and book on Expedia.ie
  • Earn: Agents earn 10% base commission on Expedia Special Rate hotel bookings and car rentals and great commission on e-packages (flight + hotel)
  • Service and Support: Ongoing support for TAAP affiliates is provided through a dedicated call centre managed by global travel marketing company Discover the World Marketing

“Over the past years, TAAP has proven to be a great model for travel agents, enabling them to get just what they want and at great prices,” added Diego. “This is where Expedia TAAP can help out travel agents as it offers hotels all over the world – with specifically great offerings in the USA and cities in Europe and in Asia where the inventory is second to none – as well as high quality, efficient and a local customer service support.”

Travel agents will earn commission on all their bookings made through Expedia.ie for hotels, car rentals, flights and e-packages (special Expedia flight+hotel, flight+hotel+car deals).

Base commission on Expedia special rate hotels and car rentals is 10% and further advantages are available for the agents that want to increase their business through TAAP.

As from 1st January 2012, no sign-up fee is applied to travel agents who join TAAP. Also, no additional running costs occur for being a member of TAAP.

To become a member, travel agents can register online at http://access.expedia.ie/Home/TravelAgentOverview and complete a simple form where all the terms and conditions are displayed for approval.

Travel agencies can contact Expedia TAAP Ireland on: T: 01 517 1525, E: [email protected]

Expedia’s TAAP programme will be marketed by Discover the World Marketing, which is already teaming up with Expedia in seven other markets across Europe.
