Scenic Druids Glen Golf Club, in the heart of Co Wicklow, was the venue for the President’s Prize (Peter O’Hanlon) for the Travel Industry Golf Society. A record turn out of more than 60 members and guests enjoyed the course, while the sunny weather contributed to a really excellent day. The sponsor for the outing was Etihad Airways.
Martin Dempsey scooped the first prize with an impressive score of 42 points, playing off 11.
Niamh Byrne, Ask Susan Travel, won the top prize in the Ladies category with a score 25 points.
The other winners were Mens Cat 1: Clem Walshe (5), 38 points; Cat 2: Tom Coade (16), 38 points; Cat 3: Des Abbott (27), 29 points; Front Nine: John Power (14), 29 points; Back Nine: Conn Connelly (5), 20 points; Longest Drive: Conn Connolly; Nearest the Pin: Volker Lorenz.
For the Ladies the other winners were: Cat 1: Nichola Burns (12), 25 points; Cat 2: Marian Benton (35), 23 points; Front Nine: Miriam Skelly, 15 points; Back Nine: Gillian Lowry, 10 points; Longest Drive: Nichola Burns; Nearest the Pin: Niamh Byrne.
The next TIGS outing is to Mount Juliet on Thursday 26th May.
