Etihad Introduces B777 on Dublin – Abu Dhabi Route

Etihad Airways commenced deploying a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on several of its flights between Dublin and Abu Dhabi from Sunday 30th June 2013. The aircraft can carry 412 passengers, with 28 fully flatbed seats in Pearl Business Class and 384 seats in Coral Economy Class, and increases Etihad’s capacity on the route by 34%.

The B777-300ER is the biggest aircraft in the Etihad fleet, in terms of passengers it can carry, and the decision to deploy it out of Dublin reflects the importance of the route, which celebrated its one-millionth passenger earlier in 2013.

James Hogan, President and Chief Executive, said: “Since launching flights to Dublin in 2007, Etihad Airways has steadily increased its capacity and flight schedule and to arrive at this moment – placing a B777 on the route – is a great achievement.

“Passengers can continue to enjoy Etihad Airways’ world-class product and hospitality aboard our newest aircraft, and we look forward to carrying greater numbers of Irish air travellers to Abu Dhabi and beyond.”

The B777-300ER will operate on the EY45 and EY42 flights into and out of Dublin each week, accounting for six out of the 10 Dublin services operated by Etihad. An Airbus A330-200 will continue to operate on the four EY41 and EY48 flights.

The B777-300ER is equipped with the latest Etihad Airways award-winning Pearl Business Class and Coral Economy Class product, with customers served by international cabin crew that includes the airline’s strong Irish contingent. Pearl Business Class passengers enjoy their own privacy shell and 6 foot 1 inch full flatbed with direct aisle access from every seat. Passengers also have a Food and Beverage Manager and can choose from à la carte or ‘Kitchen Anytime’ options.

Coral Economy Class offers passengers one of the world’s most spacious and ergonomically designed economy cabin seats. Passengers enjoy generous meal choices accompanied by a complimentary bar service.
