أبوظبي في 19 يونيو/ وام/ حطّت الاتحاد للطيران، للمرة الأولى في لشبونة، إيذانا بإطلاق خدمات منتظمة بين أبوظبي والعاصمة البرتغالية.
وتم الاحتفال بالرحلة الافتتاحية رقم EY63، في مطار أبوظبي قبل الإقلاع مع سعادة فيرناندو دوراي دي بريتو إي كونها فيجيرينهاس، سفير جمهورية البرتغال لدى الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وكريس هيدلين، نائب رئيس الاتحاد للطيران لتخطيط الشبكات.
وسيتم تشغيل الخدمة الجديدة أيام الثلاثاء والأربعاء والأحد على متن طائرة بوينج 787-9 دريملاينر الأكثر حداثة، والتي توفّر 28 مقصورة في درجة الأعمال و262 مقعدًا في الدرجة السياحية .
وقال أنطونوالدو نيفيس، الرئيس التنفيذي للاتحاد للطيران : “ بينما نواصل توسيع شبكة وجهاتنا العالمية، يسعدنا أن نشغل أولى رحلاتنا إلى لشبونة، ونتطلع إلى الترحيب بضيوفنا لزيارة هذه المدينة التاريخية العريقة مع ربط شعب البرتغال بالإمارات وغيرها من الوجهات في الشرق الأوسط وآسيا وأستراليا ”.
وبعد أن تم الإعلان عن رحلات لشبونة في البداية كخط موسمي، مدّدت الاتحاد للطيران الخدمة حتى فصل الشتاء لجعلها رحلات مستمرة نتيجة للطلب العالي عليها .
وتتزامن الرحلة الافتتاحية إلى لشبونة مع إطلاق رحلات الاتحاد للطيران الصيفية إلى جزيرة ميكونوس اليونانية في 16 يونيو وإلى مالقة في 18 يونيو.

Lisbon was named Leading City Break Destination at last year’s World Travel Awards.
