Emirates is welcoming 2013 aboard by offering attractive fares for quick-acting customers. The special Economy Class fares apply to more than 120 destinations across the Emirates network when booked between 26th December 2012 and 10th January 2013 for travel from 18th January to 10th June 2013.
“With our excellent on board product and a long list of exciting destinations – from Cape Town and Melbourne to Tokyo and Phuket – there are already many reasons to experience Emirates,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ Executive Vice President – Passenger Sales Worldwide. “Now, we are injecting even more value into Economy Class fares and we urge customers to move quickly to secure seats at the best price.”
Return Economy Class fares to Dubai start from €497 and other prices include:
- Australia from €971
- New Zealand from €1,012
- Indian Ocean from €573
- China from €568
- Africa from €617
- South East Asia from €708
- North East Asia from €860
All prices are based on return fares from Dublin and are inclusive of all taxes and charges. Economy Class passengers have a luggage allowance of 30kg.
In 2013, Emirates’ expansion plans will be supported by the opening of the world’s first purpose-built A380 concourse in Dubai.

Meanwhile, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a draft decision proposing to authorise a five-year alliance between Qantas and Emirates. The ACCC said that “the alliance was likely to result in material, although not substantial benefits to Australian consumers”.
Alan Joyce, Qantas Group Chief Executive, said: “Our customer research has shown very strong support for the Qantas and Emirates partnership, particularly in terms of increasing one-stop access to Europe, cutting travel time and offering frequent flyer benefits.”
Tim Clark, Emirates President, said: “Australia is one of the top three destinations in the Emirates network, popular for our business and leisure travellers alike.”
The ACCC has placed some restrictions on reducing capacity to New Zealand and will invite further submissions before a decision in March. The partnership is due to start in April this year.
