Emirates has experienced exponential growth in recent years and has proved extremely successful in Ireland despite a relatively short history in the country, having only launched its inaugural flight between Dublin and Dubai in January 2012, less than three years ago.

Emirates will now operate two Boeing 777s on the route, which has doubled the airline’s capacity both in and out of Ireland. The additional daily flight will connect up to 22,000 customers from Dublin to Dubai, each month, as well as a potential 22,000 inbound passengers from Dubai, in a further boost to both trade and tourism. The new flight also means an additional 25 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, with a potential to transfer 20,000 tonnes of cargo on the route over the next year.

The timings of the new flight are designed to offer a convenient alternative for business and leisure passengers who are visiting Dubai. The outbound flight departs Dublin daily at 22.20 and arrives in Dubai at 08.50. The return flight departs Dubai at 16.00 and lands back in Dublin at 20.50.

Enda Corneille, Country Manager for Ireland, said: “With the city of Dubai growing in popularity as a destination for business and leisure travellers, we are confident that this additional flight will make connecting with Dubai easier than ever before. The new flight times mean that those arriving are free to enjoy their first full day in the metropolis of Dubai, with a morning arrival time. The departure time is equally customer-friendly, as it allows plenty of time to check out of your hotel and avoid an early morning rush to the airport.”
