Emirates is now the Official Airline of the Irish Open, which has become one of 16 such events around the world that the Dubai-based carrier sponsors. Three Irish travel agents, Joe Tully of Tully Travel, John Cassidy of Cassidy Travel and Jimmy Lennox of World Travel Centre, played with Jamie Donaldson in the Pro-Am prior to the tournament. They obviously passed on the luck of the Irish to Jamie as he went on to become the winner of this year’s Irish Open at Royal Portrush.
Emirates is certainly a golf-friendly airline as it allows passengers to check in a set of golf clubs free of charge. This is in addition to its normal checked baggage allowance, in any class of service on all its flights.
