Emirates and Dubai Tourism teamed up last week to entertain the travel trade at the Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin on Wednesday and at the Clarion Hotel in Cork on Thursday. Welcoming guests to the Fitzwilliam Hotel, Emirates’ Country Manager – Ireland, Margaret Shannon, said that the earlier than planned introduction of the B777 to the airline’s Dublin – Dubai route has provided a 52% increase in Economy Class seats – and reported that April and May figures were “fantastic”, while June was “looking good”.
The lucky winner of two tickets to Dubai with Emirates was James Davy of Trailfinders, while other prize winners on the night were Linda Tiernan of Abbey Travel; Joanna Kavanagh, Australian Holidays; Brian McCarthy, Topflight; and Dean Quigley, Trailfinders.
On the following day in Cork the Clarion Hotel was buzzing and the lucky winner of two tickets from Emirates was Sue Power of Heffernan’s Travel. Ingrid Aagesen of Dubai Tourism also took the opportunity presented by the visit to Cork to offer some in-house training at Lee Travel.
