As first revealed by Irish Travel Trade News on 5th August, Emirates has now confirmed the appointment of Enda Corneille as Country Manager – Ireland. Enda will take on his new role on 18th August and will manage the team of 26 located between the public reservations office in Hume Street, Dublin 2, and Dublin Airport.
The well-known aviation expert will take over the reins from Margaret Shannon who joined Emirates in October 2011, in advance of the airline’s launch in Ireland in January 2012.
Enda has held a number of senior positions with Aer Lingus including country manager roles in Switzerland, Netherlands, London and Ireland. In 2006, he was appointed to the executive team as Commercial Director, where he had responsibility for all aspects of the airline’s commercial operations. In 2010, he was appointed Director of Shared Services and Corporate affairs.
Most recently Enda has been a global instructor at the IATA Training and Development Institute in Geneva, where he delivered airline management training to a wide range of carriers. He is visiting lecturer to Cranfield University in the UK and holds a first class honours MBA in Aviation Management.
“I am delighted to be joining such a successful and ambitious global team,” he said. “This is a new and exciting chapter in the development and evolution of the Emirates story in Ireland, with the launch of a second daily flight between Dublin and Dubai from 1st September. I look forward to working with the Emirates team and the wider Irish travel trade in realising its huge potential.”

Emirates flies to 143 destinations in 81 countries and territories and, from September, will connect up to 22,000 customers each month from Ireland to the rest of the world. Emirates is the only airline flying from Dublin to Dubai direct.
