“Perth will eventually see an Emirates A380 in its airport, however a timeframe could not be confirmed, while Christchurch will get a direct service from Dubai,” says New Zealand publication TravelInc, which also reports that Worlds of Adventure, Dubai’s indoor theme park, is on track for its December 2014 opening.
Barry Brown, Emirates Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Far East and Australasia, said that it is Emirates President Tim Clark’s vision to one day introduce the direct service to Christchurch, and that while the A380s could handle the long distance range, a capacity challenge would mean that the new age Boeing 777X would be the more likely aircraft.
Worlds of Adventure
IMG Worlds of Adventure in Dubai, the world’s largest temperature-controlled indoor theme park, is on track for its December 2014 opening. The park will cover 1.5 million square feet (enough to fit 26 football fields) and have a daily capacity of more than 20,000 visitors.
Global brands Marvel and Cartoon Network will be joined by Lost Valley Dinosaur Adventure, an original concept by the park owner, Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari (IMG) Group.
