Dublin Airport declared an emergency on Sunday due to a technical issue with a plane’s nose-landing gear during landing. Ryanair reported that the flight from Liverpool to Dublin encountered “a minor technical issue with its nose-landing gear upon landing”. Emergency services responded to the scene after the aircraft landed.
According to a spokesperson for daa, the operator of Dublin Airport, “Dublin Airport Fire Service responded and the passengers were able to disembark the aircraft normally after receiving clearance from the Airport Fire Officer.”
Upon arrival at the terminal, passengers were met by National Ambulance Service personnel and medics. There were no reported injuries, although one individual received treatment for shock.
Ryanair stated that the aircraft would be towed to the hangar for additional inspection by engineers.
According to the daa, arrivals of planes into Dublin Airport were suspended during the incident. The South Runway at the airport remained closed for the evening.
