EasyJet yesterday launched its first direct service between Belfast International Airport and Manchester, complementing its existing service between Belfast and Liverpool. There are two flights daily to Manchester with fares from £21.99, one way including taxes.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, said: “Manchester is an established business centre and, with weekday flights from 07.20, people will be able to complete a full day’s work on arrival there.
“More people are also going to Manchester on short breaks and, of course, many football fans will be heading there for big matches, particularly at weekends.
“Together with our service linking Belfast with Liverpool, which operates up to seven times daily, we will be providing business people throughout the North West of England with the most cost-effective and flexible access to Belfast.”
Uel Hoey, Business Development Director at Belfast International Airport, said: “I am delighted that easyJet has chosen to fortify its already extensive network by filling the obvious gap in the market for a quality service on the Belfast – Manchester route. This is excellent news for the airport, the local employment market and the broader Northern Ireland economy.”
