As from today, Tuesday 30th April, easyJet has moved to online check-in only. All easyJet airport check-in desks have been replaced by Bag Drop desks and all customers must check in online.
The easyJet website says: “Online check-in allows you to complete check in and print boarding passes for all your flights before leaving home, so there’s no hassle trying to find a printer for your return flight while you’re away. We want to make air travel easy and affordable for our customers. Online check-in improves efficiency and reduces the time you spend in queues at the airport.
“In exceptional circumstances and for a limited period after 30th April, it will still be possible to check in and print your boarding pass at the airport, but this service will be phased out over time. It’s also worth noting that checking in at the airport will add unnecessary time and hassle to your journey.”
Wouldn’t it be refreshing if an airline, bank, or other supplier of diminishing customer service simply said: “We are reducing our service to you in order to save the company money.”? 🙂
