EasyJet is to increase its flights between Belfast International Airport and London Gatwick, with a 10.15 flight from Belfast and a 12.05 flight from London Gatwick added to the schedule from 20th December 2012, with fares from £20.99, one-way including taxes.
The additional frequency will add an estimated 80,000 passengers per year, taking the total to 400,000. The airline also flies to London Luton, London Stansted and London Southend from Belfast International and recently celebrated hitting the milestone of 20,000 passengers flying on its London routes each week.
Ali Gayward, easyJet Commercial Manager said: “London Gatwick is performing really well for us. We operate the first flight out of Belfast in the morning and the last flight home. Our aim has always been to make travel easy and affordable and we are delighted to be able to show further commitment to Northern Ireland by adding the extra service.
“We now operate flights to four London airports, offering our passengers the best access to London from Belfast. Also, our one-way fares mean that you can fly to one London airport and return from another – which gives you further choice in flight times, price and location.
“We launched our Belfast International to London Southend operation in April and the speed of this route – including getting off the aircraft, exiting the terminal, a two-minute walk to the train station, and a direct service to London Liverpool Street in under 55 minutes – is proving a huge success with our business passengers. Already 50,000 passengers have flown to this London airport with us.”
Earlier this month easyJet announced plans to introduce allocated seating on all Belfast flights from 27th November. Flexi fares allow passengers to change their flights up to two hours before departure.
