Dublin Airport is one of Europe’s fastest growing airports in the 10-25 million passengers per year category, according to new industry data for May, while Istanbul recorded the highest growth overall.
Dublin’s 8.6% rise in passenger numbers during May was one of the highest among its peer group, according to new figures from Airports Council International Europe.
Overall passenger traffic growth at Europe’s airports registered a “significant” increase of 4.3% compared to May 2012.
Among airports in the 10-25 million passengers category, the largest increases were at Manchester (10.5%), Berlin Tegel (9.6%), London Stansted (9.5%), Lisbon (9.2%), and Dublin (8.6%).
Among the largest European airports, the biggest May passenger increases were seen at Istanbul (18.4%), Moscow Sheremetyevo (18.3%), Antalya (14.2%), Moscow Domodedovo (13.6%) and Paris Orly (9.7%).
