Dublin Airport Welcomes New Air Canada rouge Vancouver Service

Last Friday brought the launch of the new Air Canada rouge seasonal service to Vancouver. The new route will departs Dublin three times weekly and complements the airline’s existing service from Dublin to Toronto. The route is Dublin Airport’s first direct flight to Canada’s west coast.

“We are delighted to work with Air Canada rouge to provide a direct service to Vancouver for the summer season, offering further choice and flexibility for business and leisure passengers,” said Vincent Harrison, Dublin Airport’s Managing Director. “Traffic numbers have been growing dramatically between Ireland and Canada in recent years and we are sure that there will be strong demand for this new route, both from Canada and Ireland.”

Vincent Harrison, John Hurley and Cormac O’Connell of Dublin Airport along with Stephen Gerrard , Margaret Skinner and Eamon Flanagan from Air Canada were delighted with the 90% load on the first flight.

Honeymooners Bob and Jennifer Thompson were among the passengers on board and the atmosphere was enhanced at the Airport by balloon decorations , face painting and music by the Michael Buble singing style of Karl Flood.

Dublin Airport continues to grow its worldwide product offering to the travelling public and Vancouver is a welcome addition from Air Canada.

The flight times for the new Dublin-Vancouver route have been timed to optimise connectivity to and from the Air Canada rouge’s west coast network at its Vancouver Airport hub.

Vancouver is Dublin Airport’s fifth destination in Canada, as the airport already offers services to Toronto, St John’s in Newfoundland, Montreal, and Halifax in Nova Scotia.
