The waiting time at security at Dublin Airport was less than five minutes 91% of the time between April and June of this year, according to new data from the Commission for Aviation Regulation, which tracks security queue times as part of a system of Service Quality Measures. Only once did the queue exceed 20 minutes.
Dublin Airport comfortably exceeded the regulator’s Service Quality Measures for security queue waiting times and availability of the baggage system during the second quarter of this year. The target for security screening is that passengers always spend less than 30 minutes queuing for the passenger search. Queues were measured at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 on more than 17,700 occasions during the three months and at no time did the queue exceed 30 minutes in either terminal.
Only once did the queue exceed 20 minutes and passengers queued for less than five minutes 91% of the time between April and June.
CAR also reported that Dublin Airport’s inbound baggage system was available 99.99% of the time, beating the 99% target and that the availability of the outbound baggage system also exceeded the target set by CAR.
The regulator monitors Dublin Airport’s performance under 13 separate headings, and recently published the second quarter report for security queuing times and the availability of the baggage system.
