Tourism Market Trends
Meanwhile, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently organised a meeting to discuss tourism market trends and challenges and explore further ways to promote and market Dubai in overseas markets.
DTCM Director General Khalid A bin Sulayem briefed the gathering about the key performance indicators of the Dubai tourism industry in 2011 and the first quarter of 2012 and comparison of Dubai’s tourism industry with other destinations. He outlined various initiatives launched by the department, including the Do More in Dubai summer holidays promotion, and the new hotel classification scheme.
Senior representatives of Nakheel gave a presentation on Cruise With Nakheel, about exploring the Palm Jumeirah and the World, touring the inner waters of Palm Jumeirah’s crescent, which offers new views of the island’s luxury resorts, villas, apartment complexes and marina. The participants were briefed about various packages available for the tours and the pricing.
