Delta Air Lines will begin new year-round weekly flights between its Minneapolis-St Paul hub and Liberia, Costa Rica, beginning in January 2012. The service will operate every Saturday using 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

In addition, Delta will add an additional weekly frequency between Atlanta and Brasilia, Brazil, upgrading the flight to daily service, beginning 12 December. That flight is operated using 162-seat Boeing 757 aircraft. Delta will also add two new weekly frequencies between Detroit and Sao Paulo, bringing that flight to daily service, effective 19 December. The flight is operated using a 209-seat Boeing 767 aircraft.

“With our new service to Costa Rica and expanded flights to Brazil, Delta continues to open up new Latin American destination from our key hubs,” said Bob Cortelyou, Delta’s senior vice president – Network Planning. “Delta continues to grow in this important region, enhancing our leading global network to offer new travel choices for our customers.”
