Delta Air Lines Adds Extra New York Flights from Dublin

Delta Air Lines is increasing capacity this summer between Ireland and the USA, operating additional service between Dublin and New York. The new service, which complements Delta’s existing year-round Dublin – New York service, will be operated by a B767-400ER aircraft three times per week from 18th June through to 29th August. This will provide more than 1,400 extra seats per week.

“The United States continues to be a popular destination for Irish holidaymakers and this additional service will offer passengers more travel options to a wide range of destinations throughout the States,” said Perry Cantarutti, Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We also look forward to supporting inbound tourism by transporting thousands more visitors to Ireland from the USA, boosting the local economy.”

In addition to the extra weekly frequency on the route, Delta will fly its daily Dublin – New York service during the summer period with a larger B767-300ER aircraft replacing its B757-200 aircraft. The two B767 aircraft will also provide additional cargo space.

“Throughout the summer we will be offering more seats on this route and an unrivaled network,” added Perry. “Customerstravelling from Dublin benefit from convenient connections via New York to popular destinations such Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It also provides added flexibility for freight forwarders.”

Other plans include the introduction of wi-fi service beginning in 2013. Delta will also open its new facility at Terminal 4 at New York JFK in May 2013, offering improved connections over 55 destinations in the USA, Latin America and the Caribbean.
