In December the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing launched a dedicated Irish version of the popular Dubai Update tourism newsletter. It initially went to more than 400 travel professionals in Ireland – and this number is growing. If you are an Irish agent you can sign up here.
Dubai is typically known for its warm climate, safe environment and fantastic shopping. However, the city is a lot more diverse and vibrant than many people realise. The Irish edition of Dubai Update, which will be distributed four times a year, aims to inform Irish agents about what the emirate has to offer and help you sell the destination to your clients.
The first issue, which can be viewed here, reported on Ian Manto of Waterford’s prize of a VIP fam trip to Dubai last December. He enjoyed a Dhow Cruise on Dubai Creek, dune bashing, and stayed at Atlantis, The Palm and Le Meridien Mina Seyahi beach resorts. Ian said: “Dubai is an amazing destination. The quality of hotels is fantastic, the service is second to none, and there is a range of activities to suit even the most discerning traveller. It will certainly help to sell the product having see and experienced it.”
A fam trip is scheduled for Irish agents on 17th April 2012 in partnership with Emirates. Nine travel agents and a Dubai Tourism representative will be staying at Atlantis, The Palm and activities will include a city and shopping tour, hotel inspections, a desert safari, and a visit to the Sh. Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding.
