Damien Mooney Appointed MD by Cruisingexcursions.com

Damien Mooney has joined Cruisingexcursions.com as Managing Director, with a wealth of travel industry expertise over 25 years, of which 10 years were as chief executive of Falcon/JWT Holidays, part of the TUI AG Group.

Damien had a place over a five-year period to 2010 on the TUI Divisional Mainstream Sector UK & Ireland Board. In recent years he has concentrated on change management and small business turnarounds in consultancy and interim management roles.

Reporting to Chairman John Wimbleton and working with the management team including Chief Operating Officer Simonne Fairbanks, Damien will be based at the company’s Cannock, Staffordshire, headquarters in England where up to 40 personnel are currently employed.

John Wimbleton said: “Cruisingexcursions.com has experienced very rapid growth, going from a small start-up to a multi-million pound turnover in less than four years. Having worked with Damien previously I know that he is a likeminded business leader with strong experience in delivering financial performance and strategic direction and is the right person to take the company to the next level.”

Damien said: “I am very excited to be appointed managing director. Cruisingexcursions.com is an excellent business that is uniquely positioned to deliver quality port/shore excursion product with a real value proposition to the ever-growing cruise travel sector.

“I am looking forward to driving the business towards further growth and building on the successes achieved to date. The business is looking to the next stage of development, which includes further growth within the UK and Ireland along with expansion in Europe, the USA and Australia. I look forward to working again with John Wimbleton along with Simonne Fairbanks and an inspiring board of directors.”

Cruisingexcursions.com was launched in 2011 with 240 European destinations. The company now has a choice of close to 12,000 excursions at more than 700 ports worldwide.
