Cork Airport Launches New Advertising Campaign

Cork Airport has announced a new ‘Better Still, You’re Flying From Cork’ advertising campaign to promote direct routes from Cork for 2013. Cork Airport

Niall MacCarthy, Airport Director, said: “This is an exciting new advertising campaign showcasing all the reasons why it’s so easy and convenient to fly direct from Cork Airport. This campaign will naturally resonate with those living in Cork city and county but this campaign is also designed to reach our customer base throughout Munster and further afield.”

The ‘Better Still’ campaign is inspired by the famous ‘Cork Pride’ and looks to remind Corkonians and potential passengers from surrounding counties just how easy and convenient flying from Cork Airport really is. The campaign will be featured on outdoor and radio mediums that will be seen, heard and experienced across Munster and also in South Leinster.

The outdoor campaign will appear at approximately 100 carefully selected sites, in large and small billboard format. The print executions have been shot by well-known photographer Liam Murphy. The radio spots feature the friendly and familiar voice of Pauline McGlynn – who played the iconic ‘Mrs Doyle’ character in the late Dermot Morgan’s ‘Father Ted’ series. Pauline will showcase the humorous charm of native Corkonians and will identify with the true nature of ‘Cork Pride’ for the new campaign.

Creative agency Cawley Nea\TBWA worked on the project from concept stage through to the finished campaign. “Cork Airport is vital to the business, community and cultural life of the South of Ireland,” said Deirdre Waldron, Managing Director. “The region has every right to be proud of it and we wanted to reflect that pride in this campaign.”
