Cork Airport and Topflight Celebrate Verona Route

Cork Airport is supporting tour operator Topflight to promote its Verona route. Topflight’s Italy summer programme has already begun with increased capacity to the home city of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, which continues to be a popular destination for Irish holidaymakers.

Verona is an ideal destination for heading to Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake, as well as to the Venetian Riviera, which includes Lido di Jesolo and Caorle.

The company, which is wholly Irish owned and run by Chairman and founder Tony Collins, has continued to position itself as Ireland’s Italian Specialist. Already this year, bookings are on track for a 15% increase on 2014, a year which saw fortunes turn for the Irish travel trade again.

Kevin Cullinane, Head of Communions, Cork Airport, said: “This is again set to be another busy summer at Munster’s favorite airport and I am delighted to welcome Topflight back to the charter market for another summer season. Cork Airport is a great gateway for outbound charters for the whole of Ireland and Topflight has a fantastic range of destinations for leisure passengers. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to welcoming their passengers through Cork Airport.

“Italy itself is one of the most popular destinations from Ireland, ranking as third most popular country to travel to in an ITAA survey of Irish travel agents.   As well as Topflight’s charters to Italy, the company also works with scheduled airlines such as Aer Lingus and Ryanair, developing its markets to other key areas in Italy. These include Pisa for Tuscany and Liguria; and Milan Bergamo, for Lakes Maggiore and Como.”
