Copenhagen Awarded 15 Michelin Stars

The 2013 edition of the Michelin Guide Rouge has awarded 13 of Copenhagen’s restaurants a total of 15 stars, a record high for Copenhagen. The fully organic restaurant, Geranium, was awarded its second Michelin, giving the city two 2-star restaurants. Newcomer to receive a Michelin star is restaurant Kadeau.

Copenhagen Michelin Stars

Copenhagen has become a global food Mecca: restaurant noma, the pioneer of New Nordic Cuisine, was awarded first one then two stars in the Michelin Guide, and has been named the World’s Best Restaurant by UK’s Restaurant Magazine in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The city also has some of the world’s best chefs and Northern Europe’s biggest food festival, Copenhagen Cooking.

The Michelin Guide is not just about stars, it also awards the Bib Gourmand, a special category for great restaurants that are more affordable and deliver particularly good value for money. This year, Copenhagen’s restaurants were awarded a total of 13 Bib Gourmands, compared to 12 in the last edition.
