Clayton and Maldron Hotels Owner Eyes 5,000 More Rooms in UK

The owner of the Clayton and Maldron hotel chains – the Dalata Hotel Group – is planning to add another 5,000 rooms to its regional UK property portfolio.

While not giving a fixed timeframe, the group – already the largest hotel operator in Ireland and fast growing in the UK – said the additional property growth would be on top of its currently announced room pipeline.

The hotel group also said that the early success of its Clayton Hotel Dusseldorf has given it the confidence for its next strategic growth steps in continental Europe.

Earlier this week, Dalata reported a surge in underlying earnings and revenues for the first half of the year – with particular growth being noted in the UK market, where it has been expanding for some time.
