Celebrity Cruises has launched the world’s first digital cruise ship experience in the metaverse – the all-new ‘Wonderverse’.
This groundbreaking industry-first will allow travellers to “see before they sail,” exploring a hyper-realistic, digital recreation of the newest ship in Celebrity’s transformational Edge Series, Celebrity Beyond.
Just in time for the festive period when consumers are dreaming of where to go in the new year, the experience also comes with the ability to check out top destinations that Celebrity sails to – from Europe to Asia, Alaska and the Caribbean.
Guests can even meet and chat with the line’s key leaders as digital avatars, including President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the inspirational Captain Kate McCue – the first, and still only, American female captain of a major cruise ship, and Nate Berkus, Celebrity’s Edge Series Travel Ambassador and designer of the Sunset Bar on Celebrity Beyond.
Because the world doubles as a meeting platform and allows interaction between users, as well as opportunities to present video and chat, a travel agent or Celebrity Sales representative could host events in the WonderVerse and offer virtual, fully immersive tours just like they would in real life.
