Luxury river cruise operator AmaWaterways has announced Catherine Powell as its new chief executive.
Ms Powell – who has previously held senior leadership positions with Disney and Airbnb – is already President of AmaWaterways. She will – as of the beginning of July – succeed co-founder Rudi Schreiner in the CEO role, with Mr Schreiner moving to the post of chairman.

“This is a dynamic moment of both growth and transformation for AmaWaterways and for the river cruising industry,” Ms Powell said.
L Catterton, the private equity company that owns AmaWaterways, said Ms Powell’s travel industry experience positions her to guide the company’s next growth phase and meet increasing demand for luxury travel.
