Cassidy Travel, headed by John Cassidy and John Spollen, celebrated 30 years in business with a function onboard the MSC Splendida. More than 150 guests, comprising staff and customers, were hosted to lunch, a tour of the ship and a presentation by Rebecca Kelly of MSC Cruises.
Celebratory champagne flowed together with slices of birthday cake for all.
John Spollen welcomed the guests and pointed out that over the past 30 years they had seen the ups and downs of the economy. However, thanks to the more than 90 staff in their eight branches and a loyal customer base, the company has prospered.
Rebecca Kelly from MSC Cruises, in her own inimitable style, gave a comprehensive presentation on the Italian-owned cruise line.
MSC Cruises plans to make its first sailing to China, with the newly renovated MSC Lirica calling in Shanghai on 1st May 2016 after having travelled across continents. The 65,000-tonne ship will make the company’s maiden call in China’s biggest megalopolis after a 60-day round-the-world Grand Voyage via Europe that departs on 3rd March 2016 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Three different versions of the Grand Voyage, with Shanghai as final destination, are being offered, with MSC Cruises guests having the opportunity to depart from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Genoa in Italy or Dubai in the UAE.
