CAR Issues Autumn Licensing Timetable

Commission for Aviation Regulation
Commission for Aviation Regulation

Last Friday, 24th June, the Commission for Aviation Regulation issued its timetable for the travel trade’s autumn licensing round, and advised applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible after the round opens on 18th July 2011. The latest date for submission of applications is the 15th August 2011. Applications submitted after this date will each be subject to a levy of €1,956, while those received after 1st September 2011 will each be subject to a levy of €3,913.

The Commission Notice also states: “The Commission is mindful of the changed levels of credit in the current economic environment and the possible effects on applicants, particularly where they are reliant on bank facilities and bank guarantees. We strongly urge applicants to make contact with their bank at the earliest possible opportunity to ascertain what banking facilities they will be offered for the period up to 31st October 2012.

“Where applicants expect to procure a bank bond, they should request their bank to put that process in to action immediately. Such facilities may have to be reviewed by decision makers other than local bank managers and in some cases outside the State which can mean long lead times in the process.”

The full Commission Notice (CN2/ 2011) is available on the CAR website.
