Brittany Ferries Resumes Cork-Roscoff Service Early with Upgraded Pet-Friendly Cabins

Brittany Ferries has resumed its Cork-Roscoff sailing a month earlier than usual, with new upgraded pet-friendly cabins.

The Armorique made its first call to the Port of Cork on St Valentine’s Day.

Back from its winter refit, the ship now offers 18 new pet-friendly cabins for the first time, significantly enhancing the capacity for passengers travelling with their beloved pets.

The pet-friendly cabins all feature easy access from the garage deck, a hygienic laminate floor, and convenient access to a dedicated pet promenade area on the outside deck. Up until now, dogs have had to remain in cars during the crossing on board the Armorique, but a selection of cabins have now been converted to accommodate people travelling with their pets.

In 2023, Brittany Ferries revealed that 75,000 pets accompanied by their owners, travelled on their routes in the previous year – highlighting the soaring demand and popularity for pet-friendly travel.

“We are delighted to resume our service from Cork to Roscoff,” said Hugh Bruton, General Manager at Brittany Ferries. “This early commencement reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel options between Ireland and France. The addition of upgraded pet-friendly cabins on the Armorique ensures that our passengers enjoy a comfortable and convenient journey, with special consideration for those traveling with pets.”

The Armorique launched in 2009 can accommodate up to 1,500 passengers with a choice of 247 en-suite cabins (18 of which are pet-friendly) and several reserved seating lounges throughout the ship.

The Brittany Ferries Cork to Roscoff sailings run twice weekly, on the Armorique and the flagship vessel Pont-Aven, which offers 28 pet-friendly cabins.

Offering a twice-weekly service connecting Cork with Roscoff in Brittany, as well as direct routes from Rosslare to Cherbourg in Normandy and Bilbao in Spain, Brittany Ferries offers a variety of destinations
