British Airways will move its Dublin – London Heathrow flights to Terminal 5. Willie Walsh told Irish Travel Trade News that this was part of the airline’s future planning, as Terminal 1 is due for demolition in 2014. However, there are certain logistical challenges with a move to T5 , as more domestic gates are needed.
In the interim it might be necessary to use T3 gates. Aer Lingus has already announced that it will be relocating flights to London Heathrow Terminal 2.
Willie Walsh also revealed that, despite increased long-haul capacity from Dublin, British Airways’ business from Ireland has shown an increase.
