British Airways has paused sales of tickets from Heathrow Airport to all short-haul destinations until Monday, August 8 as issues at the London airport remain very prevalent for passengers. This is on the back of the recent Heathrow announcement of a cap on departing passengers of 100,000 per day until September 11.
In a British Airways statement, the airline said: “As a result of Heathrow’s request to limit new bookings, we’ve decided to take responsible action and limit the available fares on some Heathrow services to help maximise rebooking options for existing customers, given the restrictions imposed on us and the ongoing challenges facing the entire aviation industry.”
On the British Airways website this morning (August 2 at 8am), the airline is still offering 15 flights from Dublin to LHR on Wednesday, ten of which are operated by Aer Lingus. However, there are no services on offer from LHR to Dublin until Tuesday, August 9 (though, for example, there are still 4 flights from Gatwick operated by Aer Lingus and 5 from LCY operated by BA City Flyer on Wednesday).
