Luxury train and hotel operator, Belmond is on track to launch its new Belmond Grand Hibernian train. The new service will offer a range of 2, 4 and 6-day itineraries around the island of Ireland, beginning on 9th August 2016.
The two-day option will be from Dublin to Belfast and then on to Coleraine. Also under consideration is a two-day trip from Dublin on the South East corridor. The focus will be on the overall experience.
The four-day itinerary will be from Dublin to Cork then on to Killarney to Galway then to Westport and then back to Dublin.
Rates, which are fully inclusive, are two nights €3,160 per person, four nights €5,420, and six nights €7,720, all commissionable to agents.
Meals will be created from local produce with the focus on the best, and will not be over the top. Every evening there will be entertainment from local musicians and artists.
The General manager for the Belmond Grand Hibernian is P.J.Kavanagh, who has a background in five star hotel management.
The impressive conversion of the former CIE rolling stock is being done by Mivan of Antrim in Northern Ireland.
