Belfast International Airport has obtained a level 2 carbon reduction as part of the Airport Credit Accreditation (ACA) programme.
ACA is the only global, airport-specific program that certifies airports’ efforts to manage and reduce their carbon emissions.
Graham Keddie, Managing Director, Belfast International Airport said “The airport team have been focused and dedicated on the comprehensive management and mitigation of our carbon footprint. We are delighted to have achieved this accreditation and are committed to working towards the next levels.”
Belfast Airport has decreased its carbon emissions by 20% since joining the VINCI Airport Group in 2018.
VINCI Airports own over 50 airports across Europe. They were the first airport operator to commit to a global international environmental strategy.
The group’s environmental strategy establishes preventive measures aimed at developing sustainable and environmentally friendly approaches to air transportation.
