Average Flight Capacity 8% Higher than 2019

There are currently 8% higher more available seats per flight – in the first quarter of 2024 – compared to the early part of 2019.

According to research by travel and flight data provider OAG, worldwide airline capacity will pass 2019 levels this year.

While many European airlines – including Ryanair and EasyJet – have more capacity to their flights (both adding an average of 7 seats per plane); United Airlines, in the US, has seen the biggest increase, adding 21 seats per flight since the second quarter of 2019.
