It cost US$1 billion and took six million man days to build RCI’s new Anthem of the Seas, the most modern cruise liner in the world.
.
More than 170 members of the Irish travel trade have just spent two days aboard the ‘Anthem of the Seas’, where they experienced what Royal Caribbean International calls the ‘WOW factor’.
The world’s most revolutionary cruise ship, Anthem of the Seas is setting sail on the next great adventure. Unprecedented innovations in ship design, thrilling activities, game-changing technology, multi-dimensional entertainment, and robust, flexible dining opportunities come together onboard Anthem to create the ultimate, contemporary cruising experience found only on Royal Caribbean.
She spans 18 decks, encompasses 167,800 gross registered tons, carries 4,180 guests at double occupancy and features 2,090 staterooms. Anthem of the Seas will sail out of Southampton for her inaugural season this summer before departing for New York Harbour and her new homeport of Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Dynamic Dining gives guests onboard Anthem of the Seas a choice of 18 restaurant concepts as vast and varied as dining anywhere in the world. At the forefront of the programme is a new approach to the traditional main dining room, which has been designed as five complimentary, full service restaurants, each with its own distinctive cuisine and immersive ambience. These distinctive venues feature rotating menus that deliver delectable new selections nightly, as well as guest favourites, ensuring diners find a tantalising mix of new and familiar items each time they return.
With Anthem of the Seas, guests can choose from two Dynamic Dining options to best suit their preferences: Dynamic Dining Choice, which allows guests to decide when, where, and with whom to dine each evening, and Dynamic Dining Classic, which is designed for those who prefer a more traditional experience. Classic accommodates diners in a choice of early or late seating, and rotates them through a preset line-up of the complimentary main dining restaurants along with the same companions and wait staff throughout their cruise. Dynamic Dining Classic is available on a first come, first serve basis.
In addition, Anthem of the Seas features an amazing line-up of specialty restaurants, ranging from multi-sensory venues to concepts from award-winning chefs including Jamie’s Italian, the hugely popular restaurant from Britain’s most famous chef and campaigner, Jamie Oliver.
At top of the range of speciality restaurants is the absolute culinary experience, well named as Wonderland. Here the imaginative cuisine, prepared under the watchful eye of Chef Michael Gilligan, of Irish extraction, will have you entranced with each delicious bite.
The wi-fi on Anthem of the Seas is really good – in fact the broadband width is greater than the combined broadband on every other cruise liner in the world!
This is an incredible ship in every respect and is certain to be a winner with any agent’s cruise customer, of every age profile. Royal Caribbean International recently announced that it is building a third Quantum-class ship, to be named ‘Ovation of the Seas’.
