Schiphol Airport to Ban Night Flights and Private Jets

Schiphol Airport is considering a ban on night flights and private jets as part of a new policy to lower noise pollution and reduce congestion.

Amsterdam’s airport – one of mainland Europe’s busiest – said it is targeting a “quieter, cleaner, and better” environment and could introduce the new measures before the end of 2026.

The ban on private jets would hugely lower noise at the Netherlands’ main airport and greatly reduce passenger emissions.

The ban on night flights would result in no planes landing between midnight and 5am and no flights departing between midnight and 6am.
