Congratulations to Amanda Neeson of O’Hanrahan Travel, Monaghan, who last night became the proud owner of a new Fiat 500. The Blue Insurances Car Draw took place following a drinks reception in Matt the Thresher pub and a fabulous dinner in Diep le Shaker. Each contestant drew a box containing a key and then took turns trying to open the door of the car. In a strange twist it appeared that none of the keys worked, which ended up with everyone having to try a second time before Amanda became the proud owner.
There was a further draw for the finalists consisting of second prize of two return flights with Virgin Atlantic to NYC or Las Vegas, which was won by Mary Foyle from Travel Counsellors, while the third prize of an Apple iPad 2 was won by Mary Kane of Kanes Travel in Longford. The other 12 runners-up did not go home empty handed, each receiving a €100 One4All gift voucher.
As is normal at Blue Insurances functions, the festivities went on into the early hours, moving first to the Residence on St Stephen’s Green and finally to Lillies Bordello.
