Amadeus Golf Classic at Mount Wolseley

Winners all right: Stephen McKenna, GoHop.ie, and Mary McKenna, Tour America

Under an overcast but dry sky, Amadeus hosted their eighth annual golf classic for the Irish travel industry  at Mount Wolseley Hotel Spa and Country Club. Forty golfers teed off with an innovative yellow ball format whereby each member of the four ball’s score was counted on at least four holes in the team competition.

The McKenna clan took the honours in the individual competitions, with Mary McKenna playing off 36 taking the top spot in the Ladies with a score of 36 points and Stephen McKenna playing off 12 wining the Mens with a score of 37 points.

Volker Lorenz, General Manager for Amadeus in Ireland, welcomed all the guests at the post-golf dinner, thanked them for their support during the past year and looked forward to this continuing in the coming year. Trish O’Leary and Olwen McKinney were up to their usual high standard in planning and organisation of the event, which was a most enjoyable day followed by an equally enjoyable evening.

The best team prize with 38 points went to John Cassidy, Jimmy Lennox, Tony Collins and Martin Skelly.

Tom O’Donohoe, Strand Travel; Audrey Headon, World Travel Centre; Miriam Skelly, Navan Travel; and Martin Dempsey, Dempsey Travel
