Amadeus IT Group has appointed Maria Whiteman as UK & Ireland Commercial Director. Maria will be based at the Amadeus UK head office at Gatwick.
Maria will be responsible for developing Amadeus UK & Ireland’s commercial strategy over the next few years. A key focus will be on expanding the range of consulting and solutions services provided, ensuring travel sellers have the smarter technology they need to most effectively grow their businesses.
“Maria’s drive, combined with her enormous expertise in the travel sector, will be a huge advantage to us as we continue to grow the business in the UK,” said Diane Bouzebiba, Managing Director, Amadeus UK & Ireland. “We are very much looking forward to welcoming Maria to the team, and using her extensive skills and experience in our mission to help customers succeed in travel by placing customer insight at the heart of our business.”
Maria is coming to Amadeus from a position of Chief Executive at Directline Holidays. She has previously worked for tour operators Travel 2 Travel 4, and Hayes & Jarvis.
