Ireland’s leading cruise brand, Royal Caribbean International, has added to its award-winning fleet of ships with the launch of the largest cruise ship in the world, Harmony of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean welcomed over 200 trade partners from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to join the two-night pre-inaugural sailing from Southampton on Friday 20th May, making it one of the largest Irish trade events onboard a cruise ship.
Harmony of the Seas certainly impressed its first guests – she stands at over 200 feet wide, has 18 decks and measures three times the length of the field at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium! With features to match, trade partners were certainly ‘Wowed’ by this Oasis Class ship that blends the layout of Oasis Class with the best technological features of Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class.
Home to seven unique onboard neighbourhoods, there is plenty to explore onboard Harmony of the Seas. You can take a leisurely stroll along the lush avenues of Central Park, enjoy all the fun of the seaside on the Boardwalk, or treat yourself to the range of designer boutiques on the Royal Promenade.
The fun doesn’t stop there either, because you will find yourself transported to balmy summer nights with a live performance of Broadway’s hit musical, Grease, watch robots mix your favourite cocktail at the Bionic Bar, enjoy spectacular ice shows and when you are ready for some rest and relaxation, you can while away the days poolside or in the largest spa at sea. Ocean and port vistas can even be seen from the comfort of your interior stateroom thanks to groundbreaking virtual balconies – LCD screens that stream real-time footage of the view from the deck directly to your cabin.
Children of all ages are well catered for with over 30 sporting activities available onboard, including badminton, ice-skating and surfing, as well as zip lining, the fun-filled waterpark Splashaway Bay and a trio of waterslides, The Perfect Storm. For adrenaline junkies out there, you can’t go wrong with Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea featuring a breathtaking 10-storey, 100-foot drop.
Harmony of the Seas is the ultimate holiday adventure, visiting Europe’s most spectacular destinations between May and October 2016, allowing holidaymakers to explore the Mediterranean in a spectacularly unique way.
Following the launch of Harmony of the Seas, there are now 25 spectacular ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, including the recently launched Ovation of the Seas, with over 250 fabulous destinations to explore (www.royalcaribbean.ie).
