Alitalia is to expand operations at London City Airport, adding extra frequencies on its Milan Linate route and launching a new route to Rome.
The airline will move from 11 flights per week on the Milan Linate route to 18 from 31st March 2013. From 1st April Alitalia will commence a new service from London City to Rome’s Fiumicino Airport, operating daily except Sunday. Flight AZ212 will depart Rome at 09.30, arriving London City at 11.10, with return flight AZ211 leaving London at 11.40 and arriving in Rome at 15.20.
The service will be operated by Embraer E190 aircraft, under Alitalia’s Cityliner brand – formerly Air One Cityliner before the carrier’s parent company Air One was merged with Alitalia.
