The launch of Air Canada’s new route from Dublin to Vancouver from 10th June took place at the Canadian Embassy with Ambassador Kevin Vickers, who has been in Ireland just over one year and is getting to know the country very well by travelling to all parts of the island of Ireland.
The new Air Canada General Manager – Sales UK and Ireland, Stephen Gerrard, on his first visit to Dublin introduced the new service of three times weekly non-stop from Dublin to Vancouver, which connects conveniently with the Air Canada network throughout Canada and the USA. Also being introduced this summer are routes from Glasgow and London Gatwick.
Thanking the trade for their support over the years, and with forward bookings looking very positive for the remainder of 2016, Stephen looked forward to continuing the great partnership between Air Canada and the Irish trade.
Ambassador Vickers was delighted that the new service would connect Irish families and friends with relatives and friends in the Vancouver region and throughout Canada. Welcoming the trade to the Embassy, he stated that the launch of the new route was a great occasion to be celebrated.
Vincent Harrison, Managing Director, Dublin Airport, welcomed the new service and complimented Air Canada on the expansion of its routes between Ireland and Canada.
Roger Barrett of Travel Counsellors was the lucky winner of the prize draw, winning two tickets to Vancouver with Air Canada and spending money supplied by the British Columbia Tourist Board.
