Aer Lingus has announced traffic statistics for the month of August 2015. Total traffic for the month, including Aer Lingus Regional flights, was up 5.3% to 1,269,000 passengers compared to 1,205,000 passengers in August 2014.
Aer Lingus mainline traffic was up 7.3% to a record 1,138,000 passengers – transatlantic traffic continued to grow strongly with passenger numbers up 16.9% year on year to 173,000 for the month of August 2015. Short haul passenger numbers increased by 5.7% to 965,000 from 913,000 in August 2014
The overall passenger load factor for August 2015 was up 2.5 percentage points to 90.3%. The short-haul load factor increased by 4.4 percentage points to 87.9%. The long-haul load factor, while marginally down 0.7 percentage points in August, remained extremely high at 93.4% for the month.
