Aer Lingus Now Flies to Montpellier

Aer Lingus inaugural flight EI540 to Montpellier, an Airbus A330-214 named St Eugene, registration EI DEP, has taken off from Dublin Airport.

An ideally situated destination in the Languedoc region of the South of France, Montpellier is another excellent choice for summer sun and is the final new European route to take flight for Aer Lingus this summer.

Earlier this week the first flight to Pisa, Italy, took place and the new Dublin – Murcia route commenced at the end of March. During the peak summer season, the airline now offers a twice weekly service between Dublin and Montpellier on Mondays and Fridays, thus catering for those only staying for a long weekend.Aer Lingus

Declan Kearney, Director of Communications, said: “We are delighted to officially begin our new route for summer to Montpellier. The South of France is a very popular destination for Irish holidaymakers and bookings are very strong on our Montpellier service. It is an exciting time for Aer Lingus as we introduce new sun routes such as Murcia, Pisa and Montpellier, of course, not to mention our new transatlantic routes.”

In addition to European sun destinations, Aer Lingus’s transatlantic network will grow again this summer as the airline introduces three new transatlantic routes direct from Dublin. Los Angeles is the first of the three new routes, which began earlier this month, to be followed in September by direct daily flights to Newark, New Jersey, and four flights per week to Hartford Connecticut. This marks the single largest expansion of Aer Lingus’s transatlantic network since the airline commenced transatlantic flying in 1958, further strengthening Dublin as the preferred transatlantic gateway.

Fares from Dublin to Montpellier start from €67.99 one-way, including taxes and charges, for travel between May and September.
